I hope you have all got back to running and hope you will join us for a
couple races coming in the next few weeks. Some of us ran in the Tinley
Turkey Trot today (Sunday) and despite a terrible weather forecast it
was not too bad. I will list some result below. The next race is in
Orland Hills on Nov 22. The 5k starts at 10:00am. You can check the web
site for details. I would like to add this is a small race. If we
attend in large numbers we will get most of the trophies. Then will be
Mel's race on Thanksgiving morning. I know most of us will attend that
race. We will start December off with the Jingle Bell run put on by the
Lockport Park District.

Our runner of the week this week has been running marathons since 2001.
He has ran Chicago every year since except 2005 because it filled so early he got locked out. That year he ran Milwaukee. Several years ago when I asked for help with themed run I was directing he was one of the
first to volunteer.

Normally I have group leaders write their own story but occasionally I make exceptions, this is one of them times. Click here to learn more about this week's group leader.
Leader Profile of the Week
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense."

Announcements
Hello, my name is Joe Werner. I am the Oak Forest site coordinator of CARA’s marathon training program in the southwest suburbs. Along with your group leaders I want to welcome you to our website and hopefully to our training site. CARA offers the best training program in all of Chicagoland. It is my opinion that our site has the most dedicated group leaders. We are big enough that a group surrounds everybody and still small enough that your group leaders will know your name. I will know your name and your face, though sometimes I have trouble putting them together. This makes our site the best site CARA has. We run from Yankee Woods, which is located at 165th and Central Ave in Oak Forest. We run through Tinley Park, Orland Park and eventually run into Palos Heights. Announcements start around 6:45am, which allows our runs to start promptly at 7:00am.
